President Trump: Stand with Cancer Survivors and Protect Planned Parenthood

Many House Republicans, led by Speaker Paul Ryan, have released a bill to repeal the Affordable Care Act (ACA) that includes a provision to specifically block people with Medicaid coverage from accessing preventive health care at Planned Parenthood health centers — including birth control, cancer screenings, and STD/STI testing and treatment.

Every year, 2.5 million people like Jaime rely on Planned Parenthood health centers for high-quality, affordable health care — including screenings to nearly 72,000 people whose cancer was detected early or whose abnormalities were identified and addressed. Of the role Planned Parenthood played in detecting her cancer and providing affordable care: “Had Planned Parenthood not have gotten me that appointment, I probably wouldn’t be around.”

Blocking patients from accessing preventive care at Planned Parenthood would have a devastating impact on people and communities across America. It is important to note that federal funding does not go towards abortion, a law Planned Parenthood opposes but follows.


Trump: Millions and millions of women, cervical cancer, breast cancer are helped by Planned Parenthood.

Jaime: One day, I found a lump on my right breast. So, I called Planned Parenthood and they got me in that day. Within two and half weeks, I had a complete radical mastectomy.

Trump: One of the candidates, I’m won’t mention names, said “we’re not gonna spend that kind of money on women’s health issues. I am.”

Jaime: Had Planned Parenthood not have gotten me that appointment, I probably wouldn’t be around.
