US Air Force fatal crash: U-28 plane crash outside Clovis Municipal Airport, three dead – TomoNews
CLOVIS, NEW MEXICO — Three U.S. Air Force service members were killed after a plane crashed in New Mexico during a training flight on Tuesday evening.
According to ABC7, a U.S. Air Force U-28A aircraft crashed just outside Clovis Municipal Airport at around 6:50 p.m.
The aircraft was performing practice maneuvers known as a “touch-and-go,” where the jet touches the runway but does not come to a complete stop, KOB reported.
The aircraft crashed a half mile near the airport and sparked a fire. Three airmen were killed.
