Runyudh: India beat Australia by 75 runs in second Test
Team India levelled the four-match Test cricket series against Australia as the hosts prevailed in the second match by 75 runs here on Tuesday.
India, who were bowled out for 274 in their second innings, setting a target of 188 for Australia to win the match, dismissed the visitors for 112.
Earlier, India rode on a superb bowling performance to put themselves in a strong position to win the ongoing second cricket Test against Australia at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Tuesday.
Chasing a target of 188 runs, Australia were in deep trouble, struggling at 101/6 at tea on the fourth day.
Peter Handscomb was batting on 19 when the teams went in at the break.
The Indians bowled superbly on a pitch which has developed quite a few cracks, making it difficult for batting.
Star off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin did the most damage with figures of 3/35. Fast bowler Umesh Yadav displayed excellent speed and swing to return 2/26. Ishant Sharma bagged 1/28.
